Retrieving Dudley Lock

Azure Damselfly, red-eyed nymph ... New photos of dragonflies

New pictures of dragonflies in the library: Bluet Damselfly, red-eyed nymph, and many others ...

I just finished a big update photo albums Dragonfly my library. I do not publish a selection of images rather artistic My port-folio when my library contains many illustrative photos (and whenever possible, not too ugly anyway!).
So I finally completed the album in 2009 and 2010 there adding a few species of Odonata. And most importantly, I edited my photos. Under each dragonfly are now identified the family, genus and species, all in url links. A big job, but I plunged back into the magical world of fairies winged ... (One day I plan to index all in a taxonomic list).
Warnings
  • I'm just a hobbyist in identifying dragonflies. I probably made some mistakes, whether for identification or thoughtlessness. (If you see, please let me know by mail.)
  • Each year I try to learn a little more, and there is a family of dragonflies that I have not too sought to know: the Sympetrum. They are rarely identified in my galleries. I'll try to delve into the subject a little later.

photo Bluet Damselfly (Coeagrion puella)

That's one of my photos that I posed problem: Bluet Bluet Damselfly or exclamatory ? Fortunately, making a blog is also to meet people, whether real or virtual. And thanks to the help of Darthmagus of Blog Philibellules my little Bluet finally joined his album properly named: Azure Damselfly ( Coeagrion puella).

A red-eyed nymph (Erythromma najas) in the dew

This gracious lady had already made an appearance in the blog. It's impossible not to recognize it, with his scarlet eyes. And not easy to photograph because the nymph prefers to land on a lily pad in the middle of the pond rather than the eye of the lens!
But there is a good time for the photo of red-eyed nymph: at the time of emergence (the "birth"). This Naiad is still quite new: perched on a blade of grass beaded with dew, it completes its drying wings.

red-eyed Naiad (Najas erythromma)
Again thanks to the confirmation Darthmagus, I realized that this emerging Naiad was not first, let alone the only one to include in my archives.
In May 2009, I lived a magical day : emergences tens ! cordula of tanned, but also small metal ladies that I had given to identify. Close Two years later, these ladies prove finally: this was also young nymphs with red eyes!

frankly, not easy to think of the red-eyed nymph , looking this young lady in yellow-green body and bronze! (Shown in Album 2009 Dragonflies or by clicking on the keyword Erythromma najas .)

And to me back in all those pictures of dragonflies, I can not wait: return path pond one morning when the sun dispels evil without the white mist, crouch in the ribbon makers, open your eyes and listen, on the lookout for the characteristic sound of crumpled tissue paper that are the wings of a dragonfly on his first flight. ..
