Vassily Kandinsky, Macke: the Blaue Reiter in the blue hour blue hour The

Expressionism, the Blaue Reiter (Blue Rider) between dog and wolf ...

Expressionism is an artistic movement which was particularly expressed in Germany in the early twentieth century. The representation of the world is subjective, so not to show an external reality, but to represent an emotion. In 1912 was born on Blaue Reiter, a group of German Expressionist artists including Wassily Kandinsky and August Macke . I have searched there also more or less figurative representations of the blue hour. (In addition to the article " shooting at the blue hour )

August Macke: Red House in a park

The deep blue sky that suddenly appears in the blue hour is it not in itself a sky expressionist? What about that red house, which illuminates warmth and light ultramarine horizon? (And personal opinion: I particularly like the choice of a square format, rather rare in painting, for this table)

Vasily Kandinsky: from expressionism to abstraction

After years "Blaue Reiter", the painter Kandinsky gradually slides of the figurative representation of the subjective world to an abstract painting . Precursor of abstract art and the use of geometric shapes, it is now recognized as one of the greatest painters of the previous century.
Even in a table as little as figurative painting below, I want to see a trace of the blue hour fleeting and creative dreams. Besides, I found this quote from Kandinsky, which shows that a color is worth to be considered for itself and can generate an emotion regardless of any representation of reality: In
Generally, the color is therefore a means of exerting direct influence on the soul. Colour is the key. The eye is the hammer. The soul is the piano with many strings. The artist is the hand which, by the proper use of a particular key, is the human soul vibrating. It is therefore clear that the harmony of colors should be based only on the principle of coming into effective contact with the human soul. This database will be defined as the principle of inner necessity.

Vassily Kandinsky (Gelber Kreis)
Vassily Kandinsky has always occupied an important place in my curio cabinet interior alongside Gustav Klimt, Magritte and others. His paintings take me in flamboyant universe, balance and composition sharpened millimeter. His thoughts on the shape and color on line and point , are a constant source of inspiration to compose in photography, whether photographs, which tend toward the abstract or graphic photos .
