Information:

Sage is a woody, hardy perennial with leaves oblong, gray-green leaves are lighter underneath and darker on top. Sage grows to 60 cm in height and has a tendency to sprawl.

This aromatic plant is bitter and slightly known for its use in stuffing for poultry, rabbit, pork, fish and baked goods. It can also be used in the sausage.

Sow directly in the garden in late spring or plant to 50 inches apart when plants are 10 cm high. Prefer well-drained soil in full sun. Keep the soil moist when the plants are young. Once established, prune in spring to prevent seed setting. Replaced every 3 years or more, as they will become less productive and less dense or sparsely wooded. Collect branches, place them upside down in a cool and ventilated. Do not dry in direct sunlight. When the stems are dry and brittle, collect leaves from the stems. To use fresh sage, draw only the number of sheets you need directly on the plant without breaking the stems.

Propagation / planting:

Planting Companions:

Sage attracts bees and grows well with rosemary. Sage also helps repel cabbage butterflies (Cabbage White) and improves the taste of cabbage.

It can be grown in glass. Sage has medicinal properties.
