Homemade Rabbit Water Bottle

Seattle

Seattle ... the closest - and most American city ... "Vancouver's twin" according to some "shopping paradise" according to others.

Seattle, and The Biggest Closest city next door ... Shopping Vancouver's twin golden paradise? Let's find out!

Small overview of myths and false rumors about this city :

- Seattle: it's always raining and windy!
Yeah, well it is like in Vancouver in November right? or as in Vancouver, full stop.
Seattle: It Rains All The Time And It's windy! Well, let's be honest ... it sounds like Vancouver, eh? anytime ...

- Seattle is a shopper's paradise!
Myth number uno: NOT AT ALL! You may be very disappointed. There is the Seattle Premium Outlet very known (as Marques Avenue for Parisians) There are the Tommy Hilfiger, Ann Taylor's, but Quicksilver ... collections there are 3 or 4 years ... Otherwise, given the partition of the U.S. $ and CDN $ right now, do not bother to cross the border for $ 3 less on the perfume ...

Seattle shopper's paradise! well, if you guys wish to get a good bargain, You May Be very disappointed ... Order cheap stuff from old collections and With A weak loonie, No Need To Cross the border to save $ 3 on perfume ...

- Seattle: They have fresh fish but how do they do??
Yeah, Vancouver, fish, most often it is frozen. At Pike Market , displays of fish would even be ashamed of Britons ... But how do they do? For that, I love this city! If you like seafood, Seattle is the city for you ...

Seattle: Fresh fish on sale! OMG! fresh fish at Pike Public Market ... I Could not Believe My Eyes! In Vancouver, frozen fish sold IS MOST of the Time and I'm still Trying to find some good deal on fish ... I just love Seattle icts for fresh sea food!

- Seattle: They are strange these Americans
YES ... and no. It is true that by dint of living in Canada, in Vancouver, where everything is sanitized and the relationship between human polite and cordial, put a foot on the U.S., it can be scary. Americans in the street shouting, insult or ... running around naked (true, by -5 and snow. was hallucinating!) I remember this American shouting to passers-by to join Jesus or we will burn in Hell. You pointed the finger " Thou shalt go to Hell, you, you also " beh oh no, not me! Before getting booed by a gang of youths who began shouting "We love Hell" (We like hell) so I will not explain the atmosphere in the square! It's good, anyway, to see people with opinions, people who express themselves, even if it's anything to tell! So yes, they are weird but that's what makes their charm! ;)
Seattle ... well ... United States of America! I Must Say That Leaving Is Easy in Canada as everyone is nice and polite and nice and ... too polite say! I admitted I enjoy seeing people speaking out on street Even Though They Were talking nonsense! Americans are a bit goal Scary Sometimes ... It Seems to me optometrist tends to Be more-aggressive and verbally-They ... walk naked on street! True! We saw a guy walking naked was snowy street With -5 ° C!! Okay, they're a bit weird ... but Canadians Compared to let's face it ... That's Why We Like Them ... or hate 'em!

Sorry, no photo of the naked guy! P Just the Seattle Space Needle
Sorry, no naked guy pictured! Only the Seattle Space Needle

- Seattle is the city of grunge, Nirvana and Kurt Kobain!
Yeah, except that Museum Experience Music , y 'were only Jimmy Hendrix (really, it came from Seattle!) I learned a lot to be said about Hendrix (to me matters Culture Trivial Pursuit!), who revolutionized music, but I was a bit disappointed. .. Nirvana as they marveled at a generation - mine! In any case, I recommend the museum, which also houses the Museum of Science-Fiction. I who am Star Wars fan, I really enjoyed myself! I have traveled in space for 2 hours!
Seattle: City of grunge ... and Jimmy Hendrix! I Have to Say That I Had No Idea That WAS Hendrix from Seattle ... I just Knew about Nirvana or Pearl Jam! Shame on me, I know but I really enjoyed and learnt a lot at the EMP ! Great museum, it really worths it! It is also the Science Fiction museum and as I'm a big fan of it, I really really love that place!! I've been on Star Wars for 2 hours!

Yep, that's where the Starbucks saga began. They have "their" Starbucks Zero, the first face to the procurement of Pike ... where everyone stood in line for coffee super sweet that you can find in 135 other Starbucks that has the city ... and while the coffee is much better to ... just 100 meters ( Local Color). But it , two Italians and a French woman who you say ...
Seattle Starbucks gold city ... Zero Starbucks (the first coffee shop) Is To Be Found at Pike Public Market and It Is absolutely crowded and Invaded by tourists ... although There Is in Much nicer coffee shop ( Local Color) With Great coffee just one block away ... You Could Trust o coffee addict experts (2 Italian girls born in Coffee Land and one French Italian Girl Who Was In Another Life ...)

The original Starbucks, dating from ... 1971 (ooh my goodness this time!)

How To Get Your Immunization Records In Ontario

The Dark Side of the Force

The past weekend, I decided to finally take a turn toward the neighboring country, the United States. Must say it's only three-quarters of an hour to go in the state of Washington, Seattle location. Taking advantage of the Austrian trip my dear and tender, so it's a weekend girls who has programmed a little at the last moment with Cristina and Laura, two young Italians encountered recently. We had originally wanted to go to Seattle by train (as you imagine it along the sea .. the dream!) Yes but now there is only one train a day or two in If luck and last weekend, had not ben y 'at all! It is true that the transport Rail did not really score this side of the world ... and we understand! The vastness of the country does not lend unless you have the time and money ($ 1500 a ride in the Rockies!) To spend two weeks to go from east to west! But Seattle is starting before 7 am in the mornin 'to return in aprèm ... not terrible. In short, we had the solution of the bus, inexpensive ($ 50 round trip on average) to 3:30 after the bus without passing through customs ...

I Decided to visit Seattle last weekend was sincere Yared WAS business trip to Vienna, Autria. Even tough weekends only live 45 minutes away from The United States, I Never Had The Chance to cross the border and see what was on the other side! I met two Italian girls (Cristina and Laura) who wanted to go visit Seattle so we set up a last-minute trip to the States. Our first plan was to go there by train because the train runs along the sea (how beautiful) but then we noticed that it was quite difficult to find one running when we were planning to go. There is one train scheduled by day or sometimes none at all! Train is not the easiest or fastest way to travel in Canada and it is also quite expensive! No wonder why Canadians prefer traveling by plane! The country is so huge and in case you have time and money, train is just not a good option! Finally, we decided to go by bus, quick and easy way to get to Seattle Downtown for $50 and a three and a half hour trip ... border crossing not included!

Ah, customs ... border crossing ... This is something that small Europeans today know more! I still remember crossing the English border when I was little, R18 in our beautiful gold color, with my brother and me who were pretending to sleep on the bottles hidden quietly under the rear seats! The border crossing, customs officers and dogs, arbitrary inspections, smile and pretend that we was moved to Andorra just for hikes in the mountains ... Thanks to Schengen, you can now go to Spain and stop at Perthus no bad thoughts! View abandoned crossings always made me nostalgic ... except that here in North America, it would tend to make me paranoid!

Customs ... Crossing borders ... A very abstract concept for young Europeans! I remember going to Spain with My Parents When I Was Young, was faking sleep On the back seat with My Brother Crossing the English border while my parents HAD sincere hidden booze o Under seats. Crossing borders, customs officers With dogs, stopping cars at random and keep on smiling, pretending that we were just another French family entering Spain for hicking... Since the Shengen agreement (free travel for both EU citizens and goods) , no need to stop by "the Perthus" to buy booze and feel bad about it... it is just okay! I admit that it makes me feel nostalgic everytime I pass through an abandoned customs office... except here, in North America, where it just make me feel paranoid!!

Welcome to America...
ou comment passer la frontière sans soucis pour aller au pays de l'Oncle Sam.

Instructions:

- Be prepared to wait ... wait ... and certainly not trying to be clever
As with any border post, to wait his turn to blow the stamp on the passport and certainly not trying to make a joke to lighten the atmosphere if it is in direct searches body for small funny ...
One must be patient Because You May wait for hours in line ... and do not try to play fool Because you'll get Into trouble That You Would Have never imagined ...

- must be willing to fill lots of papers on where you go, how long, with who, where and why you were before, the color of your underwear (not that I'm kidding, though, with body scanners at airports, they need not ask!) ... paperwork, time and again ...
One Must Be ready for paperwork ... Where do you go, for how long, With Who, Which Countries do you come from Before Entering the U.S. and Then The color of your knickers (No just kidding purpose Who Knows What They Actually see Cdn With The brandnew body scans That Are To Be found in all airports?)

- must not bring bananas or flowers ... banned, confiscated! Ooh naughty! But why are you taking to apples USA? For us it is poison? And I thought that was reserved for fairy tales, well no ... Apples & Co., it's good for the U.S. Customs lined basket! So yes, you must declare your granola travel if you are living outside the law ...
One Must Be Warned That No fruit or seed Can Be importé Into the U.S.. Why Is That So? Well, I guess They Are afraid thats the bacteria in your apples Cdn havoc and destroy Their Health ... In a rich nation, With No Good Health system (not yet let's say), it makes sense ... So Obey The Rules and eat out Everything Before Getting to the border ... : P

- must leave anything on the bus, otherwise the customs Musclor it comes parading through the checkpoint where all the poor tourists poireautent hoping to pass without too much trouble on the other side of the white line ... "It that it ? (This trick a terrorist who was hiding in the bus ed)" and then everyone mate his feet, except the poor naive-that-unfortunately forgot his bag " To me sir "" And why you left on the bus? There is a reason huh? " There, I smell a rat because you are good for a baggage search and all the fuss. The dogs come around and the poor tourists not distracted leads pas large... Note à moi-même : ne jamais JAMAIS laisser traîner un truc dans le bus...
One must not let anything behind in the bus because immigration officers check everything... and if they find out that you tried to hide your bags from them... you're in big trouble. They come to the hall carrying your "hidden" treasure yelling to the crowd "Whose's this??" All tourists look at one another, relieved the bag is not theirs but feeling sorry for the poor guy/girl who hold his/her hand speaking in a whisper "Mine Sir!" "Any reason you let that in a bus?? Anything you need to declare?" In case you say no, do not expect them to forget about you, the potential fruit terrorist (you had apples!!! OMG!) Check your Luggages They Will Be Relieved and if They Do not check on you! Note to myself: Never Ever Let Anything Behind In The Bus ...

Well now it's my turn. My granola bars in the bag from Laura, who had left the bus and told me that "my che Celine sono una terrorista diventata per te! " It's true that I had negotiated my cereal in her bag because she had an apple ... Ah, the shenanigans with two bullets, you follow me? Okay, so I walk, I smile with all my teeth nice and U.S. Customs in my best English, handing him my passport, I saluted a " moooooorning good sir! "He takes my passport, even look at me. Ok, good, polite to excess, it does not work. It auscultates my passport, a little too long for my taste. Meanwhile, I think Ultra is always smiling Brite ... My parents taught me it was always a smile on customs, I am performing. When he takes his phone, I panic a little and I want to cry my passport because it was issued before October 26, 2005, authorizes me to enter the U.S. without a visa but I refrain. There, he began to smile and said "ah with French passports, the bazaar " Whose you say ... Finally, this being resolved is fingerprinting and photo via webcam. Here I am stuck for life in the United States. And all this while the Customs anti-drug dog came to me "snifer" to make sure that I really spent anything on the sly ... It is worse than in the movies!

Ok, I'm next on the line ... It's my turn now. I Had let my cereal bars in Laura's bag Because She HAD Some apples So We Made A Deal ... got it?
Of course, As We let her bag in the bus, The bus driver and Called us Said to us: "Girls, take this if you do not want to get Into trouble ..." Laura Looked puzzled and Told me: "My che Celine, PA diventata una terrorista per te! Damned Céline, I was that close to become a terrorist for you!" So, well, I moved forward to the security check and gave my passeport to the officer, grinning from ear to ear, as my parents always told me...Hhe took it without even looking at me...Okay, no big smile, just be polite as usual. He took a long time looking at my passport. He went into all the pages and all stamps I got from my travels. Then I started to panick a little when he picked up the phone... I know what he was looking for and I wanted to tell him that, as my passport was issued before Oct 26, 2005, I didn't need a visa but I als knew it was better to remain silent and wait... Then he gave me a look and said "well, such a mess with French passport M'am!" Do not tell me about it! Next Step WAS digital fingerprints and a photograph of me With Their Webcam. That's all! I am now is the U.S. immigration records forever! oh, and I forgot to tell You That The Drug meanwhile dog smelled my purse and me ... I got the feeling to Be in U.S. has very bad movie!

Then it towards the fund for more, YOU, the tourist, paying to be "stuck / sniff by the dog / humiliated by the Customs" It makes $ 6 ma'am. Then, because no, it's not over, it's baggage inspection, as at the airport. A chick who does not look comfortable wonder if I have nothing to declare, no food in my luggage. And me, well not nothing ma'am, I swear. EXCEPT that if I had a reserve of granola bars and I had completely forgotten. ZUT! I hope my bags will come out without sounding ... and there ... miracle, hallelujah, the scan does not see my granola bars! I won! I can finally go back on the bus where everyone waiting ...

Then you think it's over... of course not! Step 2 : go to the cashier and pay $6 to the US gouvernment because you, as a tourist, have to pay for being checked in and for financing all new US regulations on security... Humm Do I really wanna enter into this country?? Too late though! Go to Step 3 : luggage check-in. A blonde immigration officer in her forties asked me if I had anything to declare. Of course not! eh, hold on a second, I have some cereal bars in my suitcase!! Damned! I wish they won't see it... and you know what... nothing on the scan... alleluia!!I did it!! what a stupid system, really! Time to get on the bus...

Seattle, nous voici! SEATTLE here we are!

And that during that time, Vancouver was like this ...
Meanwhile, in Vancouver, snowstorm and snowmen all around ... How beautiful!

Vancouver sotto la neve ... Che bello!
